Upon entering the pub noticeable features are the low beamed ceilings and two open fires with wooden boarded floors the walls decorated in rich colours and informative chalk boards listing guest ales, wines and forthcoming events often including Dinner Jazz. The extensive wine list includes Macon Lugny, Zevenwacht Pinotage and Fleurie les Murriennes, many wines are available by the glass. The thoughtfully decorated restaurant is divided into three sections with cosy tables, but also able to cater for larger parties as well. The extensive menu always features seasonal food.
Further dishes include Boneless shin of Beef with Sweet Potatoes and roasted Peppers, Sea Bass Fillets Herb Rice, Almond Pesto, Watercress & Rocket Salad. In the bar a ‘Snacks and Nibbles’ menu includes Nachos, Fish Finger Sandwiches and Boiled Eggs and Soldiers! Sunday Lunch is always popular at this pretty Country Pub and booking is recommended. |
